Classification Draft One

The Duties of the Teachers

What does the word, teacher, mean to you? For me, teachers can be divided into three groups which are based on the duties of the teachers.

The first group is that teachers only transmit traditions. Their jobs are to teach what is right or wrong to students, especially for students’ behaviors and family morals. These teachers always have old-fashion concepts. They may prefer teaching students in militarization ways. Ms. Janet was my elementary school teacher. I remember the first day in class. She made up a lot of incredible rules for us, such as; we couldn’t eat and drink in the class and we also couldn’t go to restroom during the class. When she asked questions, we only were able to answer “Yes” and “No.” She was a teacher that taught students as robots.

The next group, teachers’ duties are instructing knowledge. These teachers only pay much attention on teaching, giving good textbooks, and explaining lessons clearly. Only if following what teachers’ points will students get good grades. When I was in junior high school, I met so many teachers like that. I don’t know the reason how could they make classes become so bland. Otherwise, they also liked to do tests in morning, afternoon and evening breaks. I don’t think doing this can make me get higher grades in college entrance examination. It was a bad memory for me. A teacher not only instructs knowledge but also finds out the efficient, useful, and interesting methods for students to learn.

Last one is the most important part in the duties of the teachers but many teachers always ignore this section. Solving students’ problem is not an easy job. Nowadays, teachers don’t know how to interact with students. When students are under pressure, they aren’t willing to share it to teachers so that many tragedies, such as suicide and drug abuse, can’t be prevented. In my mind, I prefer teachers who are willing to solve problems. I think it is the entire world to teachers.

Now, what does the word, teacher, mean to you? If you want to be a teacher, which duty will you carry out? In these three duties of the teachers, no matter what duties you are emphases on, students regard you as their friends and trust you are big happiness for being teachers.

Description Final

I have a good friend, Nicole Zhong, who I have made for over five years. She is from Chou-Zou, Pingtung County.

Nicole was born in a happy family with five members. She is a senior of National Kaohsiung First University of Science and Technology, majoring in English. She lives in the school dormitory. In this summer vacation, she went to Japan for study. She stayed there about three weeks. She wrote a postcard to me and said it was a nice trip. She made a lot of new friends, visited some temples, and took hot-springs. In the future, she wants to become an English teacher or a tour guide. She is very good at speaking. She is not afraid of showing herself.

In Nicole’s free time, she likes to go shopping with her boyfriend. Sometimes she watches some band shows. She said music can inspire her spirit.

Nicole is a nice girl who I admire. She always gives me her useful suggestions when I come across some problems. I can see that she tried her best to reach her goals and I believe hard working brings her success.
